Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness month. This month is an opportunity to promote understanding and reduce the stigma associated with behavioral health concerns. It’s also a chance to emphasize the widespread impact of mental illness and addiction on individuals, healthcare providers, and families.

Did you know that after your initial 90 day waiting period, you have 8 mental health visits per family, with your netWell membership that are shareable with your own counselor or therapist.  Each visit is shareable up to $40.00 with no visit fee or application to your Member Commitment Portion.

Here are a few health tips for promoting Mental Health Awareness this month:

Challenge Negative Thoughts: Learn to identify and challenge negative thought patterns. Cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques can be helpful in reframing negative thinking.

Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle: Eat a balanced diet, get enough sleep, and avoid excessive alcohol and drug use, as these factors impact your mental health.

Set Realistic Goals: Break larger goals into smaller, manageable tasks, and celebrate your achievements along the way. Setting realistic goals can boost your confidence and motivation.

Educate Yourself: Take the time to lean about mental health conditions. Understanding that mental health issues are common and treatable can help reduce feelings of shame and isolation.

Remember that taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. Prioritize self-care and reach out for support when you need it.
